A Gentlemen's Agreement

Barking at a  kid. =)

Ignoring Mom for the upteenth time.

Dad took me for a Sunday walk early this morning.  We were gone for 40 minutes.  We get home and he is all riled up.  "Ok, what happened?" Mom says.  "I left him off leash by the beach, no one was there.  He ran away from me again.  So I let him play and explore for awhile.  Then I saw him eating a whole dead crab ashore before I got to him.  I called out to him but he wouldn't come.  I finally sat down by a tree stump and when he stuck his head by the bush, that's when I grabbed him.  We had a gentlemen's agreement that I would let him off leash and he will come back to me when I call him."  Mom laughed and says, "He's a dog, he doesn't understand your gentlemen's agreement.  Will you ever learn your lesson?"   I think Dad is taking too many meds. He loves to see me run free but he still doesn't comprehend that I'm a shiba. I came into the door and Mom greeted me with kisses because she saw how happy I was grinning from ear to ear. I had mischievous eyes and  looked too cute that she couldn't resist me.   Here's a few pictures of the dogs I met Saturday at Point Isabel.  I got to play with Triumph. He took my ball and I didn't mind it one bit. Normally, I get possessive with my toys. I liked him.  There was also lots of dogs swimming and I saw an adult shiba.  My mom gave him water to drink earlier.

Leash On

I got to play with my leash on because a human complained about me being "aggressive" to her teeny dog.  This is the second incident with 2 different dogs.     When other dogs big or small are picking on me, Mom lets it play out till she sees that I am overwhelmed.  She doesn't blame other humans about their dogs nipping at me.  She will interrupt the play and take me to the other side of the park.  She doesn't scream to other dog owners.  I like to play rough and these owners don't understand our shiba trait.  This time, Dad got into it with this woman while Mom tried to leash me.  The thing that pisses off my Mom is how rude this woman was.  She threatened to kick me.  Mom was gonna apologize to her but her attitude change all that.  Even my Dad took the high road when she called him a name and just let it go. Of course, it could be that my parents are too laid back while others are overprotective.  Mom played soccer with me till  Tyson, a new friend arrived.  Dad wanted to leave the park but Mom didn't  until I got my playtime (yay Mom) and when the teeny dog left.  Mom wants a separate place for teacup teeny dogs but unfortunately, there's no money for that.  I am too small to be in a big dog park area even though I go there once in awhile if there aren't any pits or boxers.   So now, Mom will have to leash me every time a teeny yelper comes to the dog park.  I am sad about that.  She better get a 100ft long leash.  hahahaha....While the incident annoyed my parents, I had the best time playing.  The only thing missing were my regular buddies.

Earlier, I got to play by the beach and saw this dude kiteboarding.

Walking in the mud

I got muddy last Saturday and for the first time, I got hosed down.  Needless to say, I did not like it. I tried to escape but Mom was holding me down while Dad used the hose. But walking in the mud was so much fun.  I looked like I had socks on.
It was worth it.  We stopped by PetSmart and I got to check out the food scraps on the floor. :)
Later that night, Mom and Dad left me with a turkey neck so they can go out to their anniversary dinner at some fancy smancy restaurant.  I would have love to go with them and have me some pork belly or fillet of beef.  Mom just took pics of the desserts.  They gave them the extra mousse and a plate of confections during dessert time and a blueberry cake and an extra lemon mousse to take away.

Here's a photo of me that Mom took when she woke up this morning around 6am.  It's the first time I slept with them in bed for at least 4 hours.  I usually like sleeping in my own bed or on my mat in the bedroom or in my designated area.

Fireworks

Here are video links that I wasn't privy to.  Mom and Dad left me for over 7 hours so they can ride a boat and watch the fireworks.

Playful

I'm becoming known as one of the most friendliest, playful dog at our local park.  I can play with almost anyone who has the same temperament as I do.  I like to greet "new" dogs as they arrive at the park by sniffing of course and by inviting them to play or chasing them.  If I find a dog who doesn't want to play because they are sick, barkers, older or too young, I would leave them alone for the most part.  A tiny cockapoo/biewer type of dog came in, ran near where I was playing & bark at me.  I saw this as an invitation to play.  So I chased her around.  I hardly even nipped at her when she yelped.  Most tiny dogs are barkers.  Her human gave me an air kick to get me away from her and she scooped her dog up.  I naturally tried to jumped up on her trying to play with her dog she's carrying.  She left in a huffed.  They were there for less than 5 minutes.  My mom and Dad saw this and another lady seating across from them.  Both of them were too dumbfounded to react.  The lady seating by the bench said, "that's not right, awfully rude of her, she shouldn't have done that."    A few seconds later, Virgil's (a pom) mom told my mom what the woman in a huffed said about me as she was walking towards the parking lot.  She said, "that's the dog you don't like, every time we are here, that dog is picking on you."  To which my mom said, " I have never seen this woman and her dog till today so I don't know what she is talking about."  And of course, Mom defended me saying that my intention is never harmful and that I always want to play.  Besides, that lady never really gave us a chance to play.  Mom got riled up and wants to see this woman again so she can show her that I am a playful dog.  Besides, Mom would use her spray bottle on me first or yell really loud if I'm playing rough with anyone.  Then Rasta, a 6-month old Puli arrived and I played with him for 40 minutes and then Barney for 15 minutes before we had to go.  Rasta is a new friend.  Rasta's mom even said how Rasta was enjoying his playtime with me because he is a shy dog.  She's not the first one to say that about me.  Charlie, a boston terrier is also shy and his humans were so surprised to see him playing with me.

This is Aggie, Rasta's "big sister" who is good at playing frisbee.  She's hecka friendly.

Playtime with Charlie the following day with Truman.

And this is Max, I've met him before but this was the first time we played.  Taylor is the shy terrier that I have yet to play with.  She's slowly coming out of her shell.  :)

C'mon, this face says it all ;-)
